1. Form collaborative programs utilizing the unique skills of NAAChE members for the benefit of society in countries that are parties to the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA Countries) and the world
2. ENVIRONMENTAL, HEALTH, AND SAFETY - Develop and improve training programs, share learning, and propose guidelines to improve the environment, health, and safety in NAFTA Countries and the world
3. PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT AND MOBILITY - Facilitate a professional education program that helps improve individual skills and promotes worker mobility among member countries
4. RECIPROCITY - Offer individual members of any NAAChE organization the opportunity to receive benefits available to individual members in any other NAAChE organization

1. Promote Sustainable Development by providing conference sessions at national meetings of Member countries. STATUS: AIChE held twelve sessions on "Implementing Sustainability in the Process Industries" at its Spring National Meeting in Houston, Texas April, 2001. The IMIQ meeting in Puebla, Mexico, October 3-5, 2001 will have a plenary session on Sustainable Development. Sessions on Sustainable Development are being planned for CSChE's mid-October, 2001 meeting in Halifax, Canada and AIChE's Reno, Nevada meeting November 4-8, 2001.
2. Form a working group to guide the Sustainable Development program. STATUS: CSChE, IMIQ and AIChE are in the process of identifying candidates for this working group.
3. Determine if NAAChE should form an advocacy group on energy policy. STATUS: An advocacy group composed of Directors Mena (IMIQ), Gray (CSChE) and Cobb (AIChE) has been formed. The emphasis of this group will be on sustainable energy usage.
4. Conduct an employment trend study in each of the Member countries. STATUS: AIChE is developing a questionnaire that will include questions to help identify employment trends.
5. CSChE and AIChE have developed material on mobility in their respective countries. These reports are included here in the projects section.
6. NAAChE in conjunction with the Societal Impact Operating Council of AIChE will develop an award for Sustainability.
